Blue Rose Cafe’ Kitchen Project

Blue Rose Café was a favorite hot spot in Tulsa’s Brookside area for more than a decade. Now, the restaurant  overlooks the Arkansas River just north of the 21st street bridge. It still has great, casual American food, live music, and cold beer. But now it has expansive patio dining, an outside bar, and a beautiful view of the river.

Government Incentive for Foodservice Equipment Purchases

The Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010, signed by President Obama on Sept. 27, provides the nation’s foodservice operations and small businesses with tax relief and assistance in gaining access to capital.

The legislation gives foodservice operations an additional incentive to purchase equipment within the next 13 months. As a result of the legislation, foodservice operations can write off up to $500,000 of equipment costs immediately, rather than recovering all the cost over a multi-year depreciation schedule, as long as the purchase is completed during the 2010 or 2011 tax year.

SNA Fall Conference

More than 250 public and private school nutrition professionals attended the 64th annual School Nutrition Association of Oklahoma fall conference on Friday, October 15th, through Sunday, October 17th, at the Renaissance Hotel and Conference Center in Tulsa. The conference included a keynote speech by Bama Companies CEO, Paula Marshall, educational training sessions, trade show, public health fair, and the Lunch Lady Challenge cooking competition.
