Curtis sales rep, Kathy Bennett, and Ken Morgan, general manager ALOFT Hotel.

ALOFT is a unique hotel with an ultra-modern design in south Tulsa. The hotel has a colorful décor, 136 loft-style guest rooms, 24-hour snack bar, kitchen, prep room, and full service bar.

General Manager, Mr. Ken Morgan, comments, “Our management company, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., came to this project late, and we had a very tight deadline. Kathy Bennett at Curtis Restaurant Supply was recommended to us by Andy Patel, president of Anish Hotels Group.”

Kathy Bennett has been with Curtis Restaurant Supply for 4 1/2 years and has over 17 years’ experience in kitchen equipment and supply sales. Ms. Bennett said, “I knew the project might have some challenges because of the time constraints, but we were prepared for just about anything.” Mr. Morgan said, “I really enjoy working with local vendors like Curtis Restaurant Supply because of the face-to-face contact and personal attention. For example, when our grand opening date changed, I immediately called Kathy and she took it from there.”

The re:fuel by AloftSM pantry offers guests sweet, savory, or healthy snacks 24-hours a day. Curtis installed a merchandiser to hold fresh fruits, salads, juice and soda.

The re:mixSM lounge includes free hotel-wide wired and wireless Internet access, in-touch kiosks, several large screen TVs, and a billiard area. Every evening from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, the lights dim over the course of an hour to create a subtle, relaxing atmosphere. Just outside the lounge area is the swimming pool, otherwise known as Splash, and decorated with a large, lighted “A” logo at the bottom.

The w xyzSM bar is highlighted by a Lutron® lighting system with over 10,000 LED lights that change colors every few seconds. The stainless steel refrigeration and bar equipment ensure easy cleaning and maintenance, and the sleek aluminum barstools accent the bar countertop perfectly.

ALOFT Tulsa is the only property in the company with a stainless steel drop ceiling. The hotel’s modern architectural design includes an open duct work ceiling, which is not allowed in Oklahoma. Curtis fabricated a custom designed drop ceiling to comply with stringent state health department regulations, and provide an attractive and functional solution for the hotel. Mr. Morgan said, “The ceiling looks like it was always supposed to be that way. Kathy took care of the issue in record time so we were able to meet our grand opening deadline.”

In addition to providing cooking equipment and supplies, Curtis Restaurant Supply installed the colorful embellishment for the elevator floors.
